Giant Shopping Trip | Saving $77.50 in GAS
I usually only shop Giant to save money on gas. Lately their gas deals haven’t made me too excited. However this week looked promising so I designed a shopping trip to also fill my gas tank.
I hope to walk you through this process in case it is new to anyone.
In the circular each week locate the gas deals section – usually one or two groups. Looks like this:
In this week’s circular we only have 1 section of gas deals – Save $.50/gallon when you buy 7 items. Limit 10 offers per household. Valid through 9/13.
I did this offer 6 times.
So what did I buy?

So I bought 42 items (had to buy in multiples of 7 – did offer 6 times – 42 items)
I used a coupon for every item (I linked some of them above).
So this trip I earned 3000 points or $3.00 off a gallon of gas (6 offers X $.50 = $3.00) plus 72 points because I spend $72.61. I already had 70 points from last month, giving me 3142 total or a discount of $3.10 per gallon of gas.
I filled up my car’s gas tank plus two gas cans to reach the 25 gallon gas limit. I spent $7.48 for 25 gallons of gas($.299/gallon).
I spent $72.61 for my 42 items. I saved $3.10 per gallon (max 25 gallons) which is $77.50. My groceries I purchased also got me gas in my vehicle!
*Some notes on Gas Points as Giant*
For every dollar spent in stores (after coupons and savings) you’ll earn one point when you use your Giant Bonus Card. For every 100 points you earn, you’ll receive 10¢ off per gallon up to a maximum of 25 gallons of fuel per vehicle per purchase. There’s no limit to the amount of Gas Rewards you can earn. Redeem your points as you earn them or let them add up for more savings. There’s no need to spend $100 all at once. Your points are cumulative and add up on every visit.
Gas Points must be redeemed by the end of the month after the month in which they are earned. Example: Any points I earn in September expire Oct. 31st.
When you redeem your gas points any left over points will carry over.
