ALDI | Opening December 12, 2014 in Shippensburg!
According to their website, ALDI is opening Friday, December 12, 2014 in Shippensburg.
Here are some tips for those who have never shopped at Aldi.
Store Hours: They are not a 24/7 grocery store. They keep their prices low by only opening during peak shopping hours. Store hours are:
Monday – Saturday 9am – 8pm
Sunday 9am – 7pm
The Carts: You have to pay a $.25 deposit to release your cart. So bring your quarter! When you return the cart, you get your quarter back. This keeps costs down because they don’t have to pay someone to retrieve carts.
Checkout: Aldi stores accept cash or PIN based debit cards. No checks or credit cards. This keeps costs down because credit card processing fees are expensive and checks slow things down.
Coupons: They don’t accept coupons.
Bags: Bring your own reusable bags! You bag your own groceries at Aldi stores. You may use Aldi’s boxes or pay for their bags.
Brands: Aldi does not carry a lot of brand named items – more than 90 percent of the products are ALDI-exclusive brands.
Selection: Only the fastest moving grocery items are sold.
