Spring Into History | Explore Historical Franklin County with “Flat Ben” & Win PRIZES
It is time to get outdoors! Spring Into History is being held in Franklin County on April 18, 2015 from 10 am till 4 pm. Take a leisurely tour around Chambersburg to visit local historical sites in Franklin County. Explore history museums, historic sites and societies to learn about the history of the Underground Railroad, Civil War, frontier America & more! The 20 historical sites are found in Mercersburg, Fort Loudon, Chambersburg, Greencastle, Waynesboro, South Mountain and Mont Alto.
Featured this year is a contest! Spring into History participants are to color Flat Ben, cut him out, and bring him along as your tour Franklin County. Flat Ben is a 2 dimensional companion modeled after Flat Stanley (a book character who travels and documents his adventures). Bring Flat Ben to four Spring Into History sites, photograph him at each of the 4 locations, and enter to win a prizes!
What could you win? The adult’s prize includes Franklin County wine, chocolate, hand-crafted pottery, local cheeses, theater tickets and more! The child’s prize includes glow-in-the-dark mini-golf tickets (Glow Zone), passes to Cluggy’s, Ben Franklin action figures and more!
There is no admission fees to the historical sites during Spring Into History.
