Shippensburg

The Community is invited to the Family Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 24th from 9 am until 1 pm. The festival is hosted by the Nancy Grayson PTO and will be held at the school, 301 Lurgan Ave, Shippensburg. Hayrides, Lunch, Games, Face painting, Pumpkin Painting, Inflatables and MORE. Adults are free; Kids $5.

The Local Gathering, 600 Shippenburg Rd (Rt. 696 past the Newburg Rd.), is holding a Pumpkin Patch Playtime from 1 – 4 pm on Saturday, October 24th. The event will feature pumpkin painting, pumpkin bowling, & more! This is a fundraiser for The Local Gathering Church of the Nazarene. The cost is $5 per child of any age and no immediate family having to pay more than $20.

Life Community Church at 2249 Roxbury Road is holding their free Family Fall Fest on October 24, from 11-2. Petting zoo, inflatables, crafts, games, hay ride, hot dogs, popcorn, and candy!

Free Kid’s Clothing Drive will be Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 9am – Noon at Shippensburg University Spiritual Center.  Kids clothing (0-teen), shoes, toys, baby care items, personal care items, door prizes, refreshments, etc.

There will be Electronic Recycling for residents of Southampton/Franklin, Southampton/Cumberland, Lurgan Township, North Newton Township and for Shippensburg Borough residents on October 24, 2015 from 8 am until 2 pm at the Southampton/Franklin Building located at 700 Municipal Dr., Shippensburg.

Enjoy the annual downtown Shippensburg Halloween parade on October 24 at 7 pm.

 

Beyond Shippensburg

Whitetail Resort, 13805 Blairs Valley Rd, Mercersburg will host its 15th Annual Great Outdoors Festival on October 24-25 from 10 am until 5 pm. The weekend activities include: kid’s corner, pony rides, paintball, archery, eating contests, snow-making tours, climbing wall, craft and food vendors. The cost of admission to the festival is $9.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids aged 6-12 and seniors. Admission is free for kids aged 5 and under.

Stony Ridge Park, 50 Bernheisel Bridge Road, Carlisle will be having a Fall Festival on Saturday, October 24 from 11 am – 5 pm. Food, fall arts & crafts, live music, hay rides & petting zoo, chainsaw carving, games & inflatables, trick-or-treating for kids (bags provided at entrance), BMX pro rider stunt shows and much more!

Mister Ed’s Elephant Museum and Candy Emporium will host its annual free Great Pumpkin Party Saturday, Oct. 24, from noon-4 p.m. Artist Michael Allison will carve pumpkins that will be raffled to benefit the Adams County SPCA. Additionally, the first 100 children can paint pumpkins to take home free-of-charge. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes. Attendees can enjoy free refreshments and discounts on Halloween candy. Mister Ed’s is located 12 miles west of Gettysburg along the historic Lincoln Highway (Route 30) at 6019 Chambersburg Road, Orrtanna.

Fall into Fine Craft, the Yellow Breeches Chapter of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen’s annual fine craft and art show and sale, Saturday and Sunday, October 24th and 25th, 2015 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.at the Carlisle Expo Center, 100 K St. Carlisle. The show will feature works created by gifted artisans from across the Commonwealth and surrounding states.  Show hours are 10 – 5 Saturday and Sunday! Free Parking and Free Admission.

Knick Knack Pittie Pack Dog Rescue’s 2nd Annual Doggie Fall Fest will be on Sat, October 24th at Zullinger Community Center from 10 am – 4 pm. Microchip clinic from 11am – 3pm, nail trims, story time with Will Angelos and Oakley, pet photos with Davis Family Media & Design, food, raffles, bake sale, vendors.

Carlisle Barracks Dog Park Grand Opening will be October 24 from 4-6pm.  Ribbon Cutting, Dog Fashion Show, Treats & Giveaways, Vendors, McGruff the Crime Dog, Sparky the Fire Dog.

Visit Hersheypark in the Dark three weekends in 2015. October 16-18; 23-25; and 30-November 1. Giant is selling discounted tickets!

Happy Hauntings, Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Park, 2249 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA will feature themed rides, special entertainment, and the Trick-or-Treat Trail – a safe, interactive trick-or-treating experience. Saturdays and Sundays October 17 – 18, 24-25 and 31 -November 1, 2015  Times: Saturdays 2-9 PM & Sundays 2-8 PM

Beam’s Blue Mountain Farm will be having their Fall Fest every Saturday in October from 10am-4pm. FREE hayrides though “Scarecrow Hollow” to the pick-your-own pumpkin patch. Fall decorations, baked goods, a straw bale climbing area, and a petting zoo. Beam’s is located at 13374 Lurgan Rd. Newburg.

Reynolds Farm, 11129 Gehr Road, Waynesboro, is a pick-your-own pumpkin farm with hayrides to the pumpkin patch. Admission includes Hayride, Play Area, Corn Maze, Grass Maze, & more. Tues. – Fri. 9:30-5:30; Saturday 10 – 6; Sunday 12 – 6.  Pumpkin smashing will begin at 4pm on October 24th and for every $1 donated, a pumpkin will be dropped from 66ft up in the air, onto items below. Pumpkin Smashing will benefit the Rock family.

Stoner’s Dairy Farm, 7678 Oellig Rd, Mercersburg, offers plenty of weekend Fall farm activities.  Corn maze, hay rides, petting zoo & more.  Hours are Fridays 7 – 10 pm (Flashlight Maze), Saturday, noon – 10 pm & Sunday noon – 5 pm. Please visit their website for details.

Paulus Orchards, 522 East Mount Airy Road, Dillsburg has opened for its Fall Season.  5 acre corn maze, pumpkin patch, pick your own apples, and enjoy some fun in PlayLand with tube slides, corn box, tether ball, giant checker game, little log house, spider web, peddle carts, rubber duck races & more.  All day Weekend Farm Admission $7 (ages 3 and up). Seniors $5 (age 65+). Children 2 and under are free.

The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire will continue Oct. 24 & 25 at Mount Hope Estate with the theme Halloween Daze & Spooky Knights III. The Faire features costumed characters, themed entertainment, music, dancing, 90 shows daily, royal kitchens, artisan merchants, and handcrafted wares. Mount Hope Estate is located in Northern Lancaster County at 2775 Lebanon Road, Manheim, PA. The event is rain or shine.  Gates open 11 am and close at 8 pm.

Michael’s Kids Club is every Saturday from 10 am – Noon for ages 3 and up. For $2 your child can make a seasonal craft for 30 minutes while you shop!  On Saturday, Oct. 24th the children will be making a Pet Spider . Sign up at Classes & Events | Michaels Stores.

A miniature train runs the rails at Norlo Park, 3050 Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville on Saturdays. It is open to riders of all ages. The train, complete with a cattle car and caboose, is FREE to ride on Saturdays weather permitting from 1 PM to 4 PM throughout Summer & Fall!  Last Train boards at 3:50 pm.  Donations are accepted.  For more information go HERE!
