Shippensburg
Tiny World located at 6720 Rice Road, Shippensburg is a miniature village whose tiny buildings are landscaped, lighted and furnished. Weather permitting, Tiny World is expected to be open and lighted through January 9th. Admission is free, but donations are accepted to help keep the place up and running.
Chambersburg
The Capitol Theatre is hosting a Princess Party Movie Event on Saturday, January 9, 2016. The $5 event admission includes a Princess Crown craft & the Disney Movie Tangled. There are additional fees for face painting, hair braiding, snacks, etc. Party 1 PM; Movie 3 PM. On Sunday, January 10, 2016, the Capitol Theatre is hosting a Super Hero Party Movie Event. The $5 event admission includes a Super Hero Mask & showing of the Josh Whedon Movie The Avengers based on the Marvel Comic. There are additional fees for face painting, light saber, snacks, etc. Party 1 PM; Movie 3 PM. Visit their website for more information.
Michaels is hosting a Kids Club from 10-noon on Saturday, January 9th. For $2 your child can make a Snowflake Ornament for 30 minutes while you shop! View more information here.
Greene Township Municipal Park, 996 Elevator Street, Scotland has a 50′ by 97′ outdoor ice skating rink to enjoy over the winter months. Skating is FREE and done at one’s own risk. Participants must bring their own skates. Use of the rink will be open daily to the public from dawn to dusk. The outdoor skating rink is weather and temperature dependent, so please visit HERE for daily updates. [UPDATE: The rink will be closed this weekend because of warmer temps.]
Greencastle
The Winter Bounce Festival with Phantom Shadow Entertainment will take place at Green Grove Gardens inside the Grand Barn at 1032 Buchanan Trail East, Greencastle. On Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, January 8 – 10, 15 – 17, 22 – 24, and 29 – 31, children 12 and younger will be allowed to bounce, slide, jump and play on the inflatables (socks are required). There will be one or two inflatables for toddlers 3 years-old and younger only. Children can stay and play as long as they would like on the day you choose to come. Hours for the Winter Bounce Fest: Friday 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM; Saturday 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM; Sunday 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM Walk-In Pricing: $10.00 for Children 12 & under ($8 on Fridays); $5.00 for Children 2 & under
Harrisburg
The 100th Pennsylvania Farm Show will kick off this weekend on January 9 and continue for 8 days. 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Jan. 9-15 and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Jan. 16. The event at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex and Expo Center, 2300 N. Cameron St., Harrisburg features 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits and 300 commercial exhibitors. Admission to the Farm Show is free, however there is an extra charge for the butterfly house, tractor ride, merry-go-round and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Rodeos Jan. 14-16. Parking is $15 at all Farm Show-operated lots.
