Here’s a list of opportunities to get out and about this weekend in Shippensburg and Beyond!

Shippensburg

On Friday, March 25 10 am, Elmcroft Senior Living Community (129 Walnut Bottom Road) will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt!  Children 10 and under are welcome.  Bring your own Easter Basket and your camera for photos with the Easter Bunny.  Light refreshments served.  Egg hunt will be indoors if inclement weather.

Mongul Church will be having their FREE Easter egg hunt with 15,000 eggs at Shippensburg Township Park on Britton Rd. on Saturday, March 26 from 10-12 (with registration opening at 9:15). The 7th annual Easter Eggs-travaganza includes snacks, giveaways, and crafts.   Start times for the egg hunt are staggered by age group:  10:00 – 3 and under; 10:10 – 4-5 years; 10:20 – 6-7 years; 10:30 – 8-11 years;10:40 Special Needs (16 and under); 11 – Giveaways

The Local Gathering Church of the Nazarene (611 Shippensburg Rd.) will present an Easter Egg Hunt with Silly Saturdays VBS Weird Animals on March 26 10 am  – noon. Free: Music/ Craft/ Egg Hunt/Full Lunch. 

On Saturday, March 26th 2016, The Shippensburg Community Parks and Recreation Authority and Giant Foods will be hosting the 13th Annual Easter Egg Hunt! The event will be held at Shippensburg Memorial Park. Participants are asked to meet at the Lion’s Club Pavilion. Start times are as followed: 11:00am: Ages 3 & Under 11:15am: Ages 4 & 5 11:30am: Ages 6 & 7 11:45am: Ages 8, 9, & 10.

The Ridge Church of the Brethren will be hosting an Easter Egg & Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, March 26 1 pm.  Rain or shine.  Egg Hunt:  Kindergarten & under Scavenger Hunt:  1st grade – 5th grade.  Bags will be provided.  Bible Story, Crafts, Refreshments provided.  Community is Invited!

Newville

Cumberland Drive-In Theatre, 3290 Ritner Highway, Newville, is opening for their 64th season! Thursday – Saturday March 24th – 26th Gates open at 7 pm.  First features begins at approximately 7:50 pm.  First Feature: Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (PG-13) Second Feature:  Creed (PG-13) $ 8 Adults;
$ 4 Children 3-12; FREE for Children Under 3

A community Easter Egg Hunt will be held on March 26, from 1-3pm at Mt. Asbury Retreat Center, 1310 Centerville Rd., Newville. There will be Entertainment, Activities, Snacks and Egg Hunts! Hunts for Infants thru 5th grade. Register online: www.carlislepaumc.org.

The Green Spring First Church of God (1140 Greenspring Rd, Newville) will host its Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 26, 2016 beginning at 1 PM. Approximately 4,000 filled eggs will cover the church grounds.  Hunts are split into age groups: 3 and under, 4-6, 7-8, and 9-10, and will have an area for special needs guests. Hunt times will be staggered for parents with children in various groups.  The event will be a rain or shine event so please be prepared for the weather.

Friendship Hose Company, 15 Big Spring Ave., Newville is having an Easter flower and baked goods sale on March 25 & 26 8 am to 4 pm.  Also on March 26,  Chicken Barbecue starting at 11 am.  $8 dinners of 1/2 chicken, baked beans, applesauce and roll, $5 for chicken only.

Pleasant Hall

Pleasant Hall Volunteer Fire Company, 9722 Cumberland Highway, Pleasant Hall will be hosting an Easter egg hunt on March 26.  Rain or shine.  Hunt begins 11 am.  Come early to see the Easter Bunny and take pictures.  Age groups 1-2, 3-4, 5-7, 8-12.

Roxbury

The Blue Mountain Skating Rink is located 1 mile west of Roxbury, PA on Rt 641.  The roller skating rink is open for public skating this Friday, March 25th from 7-9 PM Admission is only $3 and skate rentals are $1.  Kids 6 and under are FREE and non-skating adults are FREE.

Carlisle

King’s Gap Easter Sunrise Service will be held Sunday, March 27 at 7 AM.  The Sunrise Service will be held rain or shine at King’s Gap Environmental Education Center on Pine Rd, 1 mile east of the Huntsdale Fish Hatchery.  Bring your own chairs.

Chambersburg

Chambersburg YMCA Good Friday breakfast will be held March 25 at the sanctuary of King Street Church, 162 E. King Street, Chambersburg.  Breakfast buffet at 6:15 a.m. and 8 a.m. (egg casserole, potatoes, sausage patties, oatmeal, fruit and beverages); program at 7 am.  Tickets for the 6:15 or 8 am breakfast buffet may be purchased at the YMCA, 570 E. McKinley St., Chambersburg, for $7.

A Community Yard Sale will be held on Grindstone Hill, Church, Honey Rock, Hartzok, & Rock Hill Roads, Chambersburg (out 316/Wayne Ave) past New Franklin to the Flashing Light on March 25 and March 26.  Rain or Shine event.

Vintage Market at the Old Red Barn, 1293 Warm Spring Rd, Chambersburg will be having Spring Cleaning Sale on Saturday, March 26 10 am – 5pm.

On Saturday, March 26 2 pm, The Hip Gypsy Emporium on Mont Alto Rd will have a Free Egg Hunt for ages 12 and under.  The Easter Bunny will be there.  Located in the Old Duffield School.

Pleasant View Mennonite Church, 346 Warm Spring Road, Chambersburg will host and Easter egg hunt for ages 3-10 at 10 am on Saturday, March 26.  Easter Bible story, prizes.

Waynesboro

 The Rouzerville Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt is adding “The 1st Annual Beeping Egg Easter Egg Hunt” for the visually impaired. The Beeping Egg Hunt will take place Sunday, March 27th at 2:30pm at Red Run Park, Waynesboro.  All ages.  Bring your own basket.  The traditional egg hunt starts at 2:00 pm.

Mont Alto

Community Easter egg hunt sponsored Mont Alto Fire Department. For ages 12 and younger. 12:30 pm activities, 1:30 pm egg hunt. Mont Alto Fire Department Events Complex carnival grounds, Mont Alto, PA. See the flyer here.

Hagerstown, MD

The Premium Outlets, 495 Prime Outlets Blvd. will be hosting an Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 26 10 am to Noon!  For ages 12 and younger. Pick up a list of participating stores or look for an Easter egg logo in the store windows.

Westminster, MD

The 9th Annual Peep show will kickoff Friday, March 25  and continue through Wednesday,  April 6 at Carroll Arts Center, 91 W. Main St., Westminster, MD. The PEEPshow is open 10 am – 7 pm (including Easter Sunday).  Admission is FREE but visitors may buy voting chips to vote for your favorite display. Enjoy PEEP treats and souvenirs including official Peeps & Co merchandise in the gift shop!  The line forms outdoors so be prepared for the weather. Expect to spend 45- 90 minutes enjoying the displays.
