National Zoo | Watch Pandas eat Frozen Birthday Cakes
The National Zoo’s giant pandas Bao Bao, Bei Bei, and Tian Tian are celebrating their birthdays on August 20, 2016.
The public is invited from 11 AM to 2 PM to watch the pandas eat their special frozen birthday cakes, enjoy animal demonstrations, and taste food compliments of the Chinese Embassy! Bei Bei, Bao Bao, and Tian Tian will be served their frozen birthday cakes at 1 PM.
Friends of the National Zoo (FONZ) members are invited to join in an early celebration from 9 AM to 11 AM, which will include activities, performances, and even souvenirs. Interested in becoming a FONZ or need to renew? Click here for details to become a member today.
The National Zoo is located at 3001 Connecticut Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20008. Like all Smithsonian Institution sites, admission is completely FREE. If you are driving to the zoo, there is a fee to park. The National Zoo is located on Metro’s Red Line, in between the Cleveland Park metro stop and the Woodley Park/National Zoo metro stop. Get off at the Cleveland Park stop when going to the zoo: head south, on Connecticut Avenue, and the walk will be downhill. When you leave, head south again (also downhill) toward the Woodley Park stop.
