Middle Spring Watershed Stream Awareness Day | September 3
Middle Spring Watershed Association Stream Awareness Day will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2016. It begins at 9 AM and ends sometime after Noon with the end of the duck derby and prize distributions.
This a fun and educational event for local residents, especially families with elementary-school age children. Activities include stream ecology, live aquatic exhibits of species from the stream, nature art, the stream ecology “pinball” game, a fly-tying demonstration, and more.
All activities will occur between the bridges in Middle Spring where Middle Spring Road and Maclays Mill road intersect (200 Middle Spring Road, Shippensburg).
Most activities (except bird boxes) will be FREE. Blue bird boxes ($5) and wood duck boxes ($15) made from rough-sawn lumber will be available for sale. Tickets for each duck are $4. Hot dogs and light refreshments available for purchase.
