SHIPPENSBURG
Join the Shippensburg Chamber of Commerce & Volvo for a FREE Family Event at the Shippensburg Fairgrounds on Saturday, August 13, 2016! The Family Fun Day will be held from 11 AM – 2 PM and is a fun way for families to gain valuable information on programs available in our area. There will be Educational and Interactive exhibits, FREE Pizza, FREE Entertainment, Giveaways, and Fun for all ages! This is a rain or shine event. The Shippensburg Fairgrounds are located at 10131 Possum Hollow Road.
The 8th Annual Blessing of the Backpacks will be held on Saturday, August 13th from 4 PM – 7 PM. Many Shippensburg churches, local organizations and non-profits will come together at Memorial Lutheran Church to provide school supplies for students in the Shippensburg School District area. All events and activities are FREE. Boyo transportation will have a school bus you can board. West End Fire Department will also be bringing a fire truck. FREE Dinner; FREE Games with school supplies as prizes; FREE Haircuts; Door Prizes.
Ship Cares is sponsoring Meet Our Local Heroes/Pizza for Peace on Sunday, August 14th. Door prize drawings, games, music, and pizza. Meet and mingle with our local heroes at Shippensburg Memorial Park, Lions Pavilion from 4 PM – 7 PM.

The 2nd Saturday features a Concert in the Park (Shawan and the Wonton with opener Carly Clark) and Movie (Zootopia) at Chambers Fort Park in Downtown Chambersburg. This is a free event. Bring blankets or lawn chairs.
The CV Steam and Gas Show will be held at Twin Bridges Campground on August 12 – 14. Large Tractor Display, Steam Engines, Saw Milling, Kiddie Tractor Pulls, Daily Parade. The show will be held at 1501 Criders Church Road from 9 AM – 9:30 PM on Friday and Saturday, and 9 AM to 3 PM on Sunday.
North Square Farmers Market, 50 N. Main Street, Saturday, August 13 from 8 AM to Noon. Children ages 3 -12 can sign up for POP (Power of Produce) Club. Members receive $2 in tokens per market visit to be used on produce or vegetable plant.
A Miniature Train rides the rails at Norlo Park, 3050 Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville on Saturdays. It is open to riders of all ages. The train, complete with a cattle car and caboose, is FREE to ride on Saturdays weather permitting from 1 PM to 4 PM throughout Summer & Fall.
Thursday, August 11 through Saturday, August 13th, is the semi-annual Kid Closet Connection consignment sale of children’s clothing, baby items, toys, and more. The fall sale is at Montessori Academy, 875 Ragged Edge Rd., Chambersburg from 11 AM – 7 PM.

Greencastle celebrates Old Home Week August 6 – 13th. Breakfast, 5K, antique & collectible show, live music, motorcycle show, flower show, art exhibit, parade, basketball tournament, fireworks, and MORE. See their website for full schedule.

This weekend’s double-feature at Cumberland Drive-in is “Suicide Squad” and “Central Intelligence.” Cumberland Drive-In Theatre is located at 3290 Ritner Highway, Newville. Gates open at 7 PM. First Feature begins at approximately 8:40 PM.

The 2016 Peach Fest is this weekend at Hollabaugh Bros. Inc Fruit Farm and Market in Biglerville. On August 13 & 14th, enjoy great music, food, and fun activities for kids. Home-Made Peach Ice Cream Sundaes, Wagon Rides, Kids’ Bounce House, Fun kids’ activities, Delicious Food, Samples Galore, and Peaches. The Willys (12:30-4:30pm Saturday) Across the Pond (12:30-4:30pm Sunday). There’s no admission fee – just $1 to park. This is a Rain or Shine event.
MECHANICSBURG/HARRISBURG
The 86th Annual Harrisburg Kennel Club Show will be held August 12 – 14. It is part of the three day Keystone Cluster at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg. The event includes an all-breed dog show and junior showmanship competition classes children and their dogs.
Williams Grove Speedway will feature Insinger Fuel Night 410 Sprints & United Racing Club 360 Sprints/EMMR Track Time on August 12th. Gates open at 6 PM, race at 8 PM. Gate admission is $16 for Adults and $10 for youth ages 13 – 20. Children under 12 are always free.
MANHEIM
The 36th annual season of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire at Mount Hope Estate continues every Saturday and Sunday and Labor Day Monday through October 30, 2016. The Faire features costumed characters, themed entertainment, music, dancing, 90 shows daily, 22 royal kitchens, artisan merchants, and handcrafted wares. Mount Hope Estate is located in Northern Lancaster County at 2775 Lebanon Road, Manheim, PA. The event is rain or shine. Gates open 11 AM and close at 8 PM. Each of the 13 weekends will showcase a different theme.
MARYLAND
The Hagerstown Regional Airport will host a Breakfast and Lunch Fly-in, Drive-in on Aug 13, and Sept 10. There will be Young Eagle plane rides, free to ages 8-17, 9 am – noon. FREE Young Eagle Rides are First Come, First Flown and will be held weather permitting.
Turners Bowling Centers are celebrating their 65th anniversary this weekend, August 12 – 14. Bowl for just $.65 a game. Hot dogs & 16 oz Pepsi fountain sodas $.65. Turner Bowling is located at 1350 Dual Highway and 17325 Virginia Ave. in Hagerstown.
