Shippensburg Lowe’s is hosting their Annual Fire Prevention/Kids Safety Day on Saturday, Oct 1 from 9 AM – 3 PM.  Fire truck bounce house from Monroe fire company, Life Net 8-1 (pending availability), Antique trucks, Build and Grow kits to build on site as supplies last, Chicken BBQ to benefit advanced EMT, Dewalt car cutting challenge at 2 PM, Vigilant Hose Co 52 vs. St. Thomas Co 18.

Pleasant Hall Volunteer Fire Company will host a Family Fun Day Oct. 1 at 9722 Cumberland Hwy.  Enjoy bounce houses, fire prevention materials, apparatus displays, and more from 4 PM to 8 PM.  Rain or Shine.

Beam’s Blue Mountain Farm will have their annual Fall Fest every Saturday in October from 10 AM – 4 PM.  There will be free hayrides through Scarecrow Hollow to the Pumpkin Fields to the pick your own pumpkin patch, free refreshments, a petting zoo, and a play area for children.

Reins of Rhythm Riding & Horsemanship, 4035 McClays Mill Rd is having Pony Rides, Yard Sale & Tack Sale Saturday, Oct 1.  Pony Rides (by donation) will be from 9 AM to 11:45 AM.  Yard Sale & Tack Sale will be from 9 AM to 2 PM.  Food & baked goods available.  Children’s games & activities.

Maplewood Produce and Greenhouse is having their Customer Appreciation Days Friday, September 30 and Saturday, October 1.  10% off all Fall decor, pumpkins, planters, mums, strawbales, corn shocks and MORE!  Deli Specials on Ham off the Bone and American Cheese.  FREE refreshments.

NEWVILLE/CARLISLE

Meadowbrooke Gourds is holding an Open House & Create your Own Fall Workshop on October 1 & 2, 2016.

Celebrate Fall at the Garden Harvest Day at Kings Gap on Sunday, October 2nd.  From Noon to 5 PM, the Friends of Kings Gap, Cumberland County Master Gardeners and Kings Gap staff will have a variety of activities for all ages.  A nominal fee will be charged for “make and take” items but parking and admission are free!  All activities will be held in the mansion area.

Fall Carlisle Collector Car Swap Meet, 1000 Bryn Mawr Road Carlisle will take place Sept. 28 – Oct. 2.   Explore one of the world’s largest automotive swap meets, featuring 150 acres and 8,100 vending spaces. Carlisle Fairgrounds, Carlisle.

GREENCASTLE

CHAMBERSBURG

Downtown Chambersburg celebrates Oktoberfest on October 1 from 11 AM to 5 PM.   New Texas Lunch parking lot at the corner of W. King St. and Hood St., Chambersburg. Fun-filled day for the whole family – German music, food, duck derby, kids activities and beer. Admission fee.  This event will go on Rain or Shine.

Bike, Car & Truck Show to benefit The Spinning Illusions will be held Sunday, October 2 at Stanley Parking Lot from 10 AM – 4 PM. BBQ chicken, games, raffles, door prizes, and more. Cash awards for best of show.

Country Creek Produce Farm is located at 3746 Etter Road and is home to Franklin County’s largest corn maze.  The “Hometown Heroes” Corn Maze has over 2 miles of paths and takes about 50 minutes to complete.  The farm’s attractions include the 14 acre corn maze, pick-ur-own pumpkin patch, hayrides, animals, pumpkin cannon, and more.

A Miniature Train rides the rails at Norlo Park, 3050 Lincoln Way East, Fayetteville on Saturdays. It is open to riders of all ages. The train, complete with a cattle car and caboose, is FREE to ride on Saturdays weather permitting from 1 PM to 4 PM throughout Summer & Fall.

MERCERSBURG

Stoner’s Dairy Farm and Corn Maze in Mercersburg offers plenty of weekend Fall activities for any age.  This year their corn maze is jungle themed.  Fall Corn Maze Weekends continue through Sunday, October 30th. Hours are Saturday Noon – 10 PM & Sunday Noon – 5 PM, and Select Fridays 7 – 10 PM.

WAYNESBORO

imageMarket Day, Main St., Waynesboro is on Saturday, October 1 from 9 AM – 4 PM.  The event features all-day entertainment, including live music, dancing demonstrations, sidewalk sales, Mad Anthony’s Chili-Cookoff, pony and hayrides, children’s activities and dozens of craft, specialty and food vendors.

The Annual Fall Festival at Reynolds Farm includes hayrides and pick your own pumpkins.  Over 27 activities are included with your admission, including viewing zoo, playgrounds, mega slides, wagon rides, mazes, games, and more.  Gem Mining, Corn Cannon, Barrel Train, and Face painting are extra free activities on weekends.

GETTYSBURG

The National Apple Harvest Festival is held during the first two full weekends in October.  The festival features 300 arts and crafts vendors, demonstrations, contests, food stands, and entertainment.  The National Apple Harvest Festival is located at the South Mountain Fairgrounds & is held outdoors rain or shine.  General admission is $10 (ages 12 +), $9 for military with ID and seniors older than 60, and free for children under 12. Admission includes parking and shuttle services to and from festival grounds.

NEWPORT

The 33rd annual Little Buffalo Festival will be held from Noon to dusk on Saturday, October 1 at Little Buffalo State Park in Newport.  The annual festival is free to attend and there is live music and arts and crafts.
