ALDI | Grand Opening in Chambersburg on November 7

ALDI grocery store in Chambersburg will move to a new location November 7.  The store’s grand opening is Monday, November 7 at 561 Gateway Avenue.  The Sunday, November 6 Public Opinion includes a $5 off $30 minimum purchase coupon inside.  Mailers have also been sent to households in the area.  The coupon is valid from November 7 – 19, 2016.

At 8:45 AM on November 7 a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held. Afterward the first 100 shoppers will receive a gold ticket, which contains gift cards of various amounts.

Here are some tips for those who have never shopped at ALDI.

Store Hours: They are not a 24/7 grocery store. They keep their prices low by only opening during peak shopping hours. Store hours are:  Monday – Saturday 9 AM – 8 PM; Sunday 9 AM – 7 PM.

The Carts: You have to pay a $.25 deposit to release your cart. So bring your quarter! When you return the cart, you get your quarter back. This keeps costs down because they don’t have to pay someone to retrieve carts.

Checkout: Aldi stores accept cash, debit cards, or credit cards.  No checks.  Checks slow things down.

Coupons: They do not accept manufacturer’s coupons.

Bags: Bring your own reusable bags! You bag your own groceries at Aldi stores. You may use Aldi’s boxes or pay for their bags.

Brands: Aldi does not carry a lot of brand named items – more than 90 percent of the products are ALDI-exclusive brands.
Selection: Only the fastest moving grocery items are sold.
