Here’s a list of opportunities to get out and about this weekend!
Daylight Savings Time will begin at 2 AM Sunday, Nov. 6.
Will Pfrang and Hannah Bingman will be performing at the Thought Lot Friday evening November 4 from 7 PM – 10 PM. Doors open at 6PM. Tickets: $10 at the door or $8 for students with ID.
The community is invited to Nancy Grayson Elementary School’s Fall Carnival on November 5 from 3PM – 6PM. Face painting, games, prizes, cake walk, barrel train, silent auction, costume parade and food. Bike raffle at 5:30 PM (you must be present to win). Nancy Grayson is located at 301 Lurgan Avenue, Shippensburg.
The Waynesboro Lions Club will hold their annual model train show fundraiser at the Mont Alto Fire Hall, located along Rt. 997 in Mont Alto, on Sunday, November 6, starting at 9 AM to 2 PM. The Mont Alto Fire Department will offer free fire truck rides to all children with a paid admission to the Train Show (10 AM – 2 PM). Door prizes, Food and refreshments will be available for purchase. Tickets for the Train Show may be purchased at the door. Admission is $3 per person or $5 for a family with parents and children.
Chambersburg Community Theatre will present the musical Disney’s Beauty & the Beast, at the Capitol Theatre, 159 S. Main St. November 4-6 & November & 11-13. For showtimes & ticket prices go here.
Shippensburg’s 2016 Veterans Day parade will be held at 2 PM Sunday, Nov. 6. The parade travels from King and Prince streets and ends at King and Morris streets.
Teachers can go to Hershey Gardens and The Hershey Story’s Museum Experience for free this weekend. Teachers will receive free admission on Saturday, Nov. 5 and Sunday, Nov. 6 when they present their teacher identification.
Craft Shows & Holiday Bazaars
On Friday November 4, Menno Haven is having a Holiday Bazaar featuring Handmade Crafts & Baked Goods by Residents, Staff, & Community Vendors. The Bazaar will be held from 9 AM – 2 PM at Menno Village, 2075 Scotland Ave., Chambersburg (Nursing Center ~ Chapel)
The Annual Holiday Craft Fair, sponsored by the Corpus Christi Council of Catholic Women, will be held Saturday, November 5, 2016 from 8 AM – 3 PM at the Corpus Christi Parish Center, 279 North 2nd Street, Chambersburg. There are 24 vendors and a variety of unique hand sewn items, crafts, jewelry, home decor, books, baked goods, A&B Religious Shop and much more. Enjoy delicious breakfast sandwiches in the morning, lunch and desserts from 8 AM to 2 PM.
Carlisle Christmas Craft Show at the Carlisle High School, 623 W. Penn Street, Carlisle (gym and cafeteria of the McGowan building in the High School Complex) will be on Saturday, November 5, 2016 9 AM – 3 PM. Features handcrafted merchandise from over 200 crafters, food concessions, raffle drawings. Free Admission & Parking. All proceeds support the Carlisle High School Model United Nations program.
Fifth Annual Craft & Vendor Show at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 15634 Paxton Run Road, Newburg will be held Saturday, November 5 from 8 AM – 2 PM. Arts & Craft Vendors, Food Stand, Smith’s BBQ Chicken.
