2017 Halloween Events and Fall Festivals in Shippensburg
Welcome autumn with these October family-friendly events in Shippensburg!
Halloween Parade
The Annual Shippensburg Halloween parade will be held on Saturday October 21, 2017 at 7PM. The rain date is Tuesday October 24. Each year this event is coordinated by the Shippensburg Kids Events Committee.
Trick or Treat
Shippensburg Historical Society is offering a Kids Trick or Treat on Saturday October 28 from 6PM-8PM. Crafts, fun, candy, costumes! Bring the kids for a fun evening at the Shippensburg History Center where you will get to do a fun craft with the staff and then trick or treat throughout the house. Historically inspired costumes are encouraged. Free Admission.
Trick or Treat is scheduled for Tuesday October 31, 6PM – 8PM for Shippensburg.
Halloween Alternative/Fall Festivals
Saturday, October 7
Southampton Township Cumberland County Park and Recreation is hosting a Fall Fling on October 7 from 11AM – 5PM. Bounce Houses, Wagon Rides, Games, Food Vendors, Pony Rides, Pumpkin Painting, Live Music, Face Painting, and more.
Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School is hosting its annual Fall Festival Saturday October 7 from 4PM-7PM. The family-friendly event features games, crafts, face painting, fire trucks, bake sale treats, food, bike rally, DJ and Chili Cook-off. $5/activity band or $15 family. Everyone is welcome!
Saturday, October 21
Pumpkin Patch Playtime will be held October 21 (1PM – 4PM) at The Local Gathering, 611 Shippensburg Rd. $5: Pumpkin Painting; Bobbing for Apples; Pumpkin Bowling; Pin the Stem on the Pumpkin and Fishing for Candy. Ticket prices $5/child or $20/immediate family.
Life Community Church at 2249 Roxbury Rd will be hosting their annual Family Fall Fest on Saturday October 21 from 10AM – 2PM. Inflatables, games, food, face painting, hay ride and much more. Everything is FREE!
Saturday, October 28
Shippensburg Community Parks & Recreation Authority is hosting a Fall Fest on Saturday October 28 from 5PM – 8PM at Veteran’s Stadium Memorial Park. This is a free community event & social gathering which includes candy for trick or trunk (6-8PM) and family fun activities. Hay ride, obstacle course, pumpkin patch, photo booth, carnival games, costume contest, first responders, free coffee/hot chocolate.
Tuesday, October 31
The 9th annual Light In the Night is Tuesday October 31st at 6PM-8 PM at Shippensburg Township Park on Britton Road. A safe and well-lit alternative to trick-or-treating with music, inflatables, hay maze, games & activities, emergency vehicles, food and candy. Costumes welcome. Non-food treats will be available for those with food allergies. This is a free event.
Bring your entire family for safe, one-stop Halloween fun to the Shippensburg Health Care Center for Trunk or Treat on October 31 from 6PM – 8PM. Sign up at Shippensburg Health Care Center by October 20th to enter and decorate your trunk and include your favorite Halloween treats!

Saturday, October 14
The Southampton Township Cumberland County Park & Rec will be holding a 5K Harvest Hustle on October 14 at 10:30AM. Preregistration of $20 includes a t-shirt. Proceeds benefit the Shippensburg Kids Events Committee. Post race food and beverages will be available at the awards ceremony held inside the Southampton Township Community Center.
Friday, October 20 & Friday October October 27
Shippensburg Historical Society’s Haunted History Tour will be offered on October 20 & October 27. Take a tour of the Stewart House to see how the family lived, with a haunted twist. Tours begin at 8PM. $3 for members and $5 for non members. Admission includes haunted guided tour and refreshments.
