SHIPPENSBURG
Nancy Grayson Elementary School’s Fall Carnival is November 4 from 3PM – 6PM. All games and activities – $4 per child over 3 yrs. Food is available for purchase. Inflatables, big wheel race, a balloon artist, games and prizes, a cake walk and more.
Honor our military veterans by attending the annual Shippensburg Veterans Day Parade Sunday, November 5, beginning at 2PM. It will form at King and Prince streets and end at King and Morris streets. The Parade is organized by the Joint Veterans Council of Shippensburg.
CARLISLE
Carlisle Christmas Craft Show at the Carlisle High School, 623 W. Penn Street, Carlisle (gym and cafeteria of the McGowan building in the High School Complex) will be on Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 9AM – 3PM. The 8th annual craft fair features handcrafted merchandise from over 200 crafters, food concessions, and raffle drawings. Free Admission & Parking. All proceeds support the Carlisle High School Model United Nations program.
CHAMBERSBURG
A Holiday Open House will be Friday, November 3 from 5PM – 8PM with downtown Chambersburg merchants. Toys for Tots truck will be on the square to accept donations of new, unwrapped toys. The Chambersburg Heritage Center & Gift Shop will start the holidays with a celebration during First Friday, including Live music by Alison and Dave’s Old Time Good Time Classical Kitchen String Band, free 11/30 magnet with purchases of $10 or more, gift basket giveaway for Heritage Center guests, kick-off to the Shop Small Sweepstakes thru Dec. 15 – come pick up your card to play for a chance to win $500 cash and other prizes!
Menno Haven is inviting the community to shop their Holiday Bazaar on November 3 from 9AM – 2PM. Handmade Crafts & Baked Goods by Residents, Staff, & Community Vendors. Brookview Community (Menno Haven) 2075 Scotland Avenue, Chambersburg.
The Annual Holiday Craft Fair, sponsored by the Corpus Christi Council of Catholic Women, will be held Saturday, November 4 from 8AM – 3PM at the Corpus Christi Parish Center, 279 North 2nd Street, Chambersburg. Shop 26 vendors and a variety of unique hand sewn items, crafts, jewelry, home decor, books, baked goods, religious items and much MORE. Enjoy delicious breakfast sandwiches all day. Lunch selections and desserts will be available from 10:30AM to 2PM.
The Franklin County Therapeutic Riding Center (TRC) will be hosting Healing for the Holidays at 181 Franklin Farm Lane, Chambersburg on Saturday November 4 from 10AM to 3PM. FREE Pony Rides, FREE Carriage Rides, FREE Photos with Santa. Donations are accepted. There will also be a Bake Sale to raise money for TRC, Face Painting and Games for kids.
Shop for the Holidays Craft & Vendor Event will be held November 4 from 9AM – 2PM at the Chambersburg Recreation Center, 235 South Third Street, Chambersburg. It will showcase local and regional high-quality, hand-made items as well as independent home-based business consultants. There will also be pictures with Santa, free crafts for kids, and door prizes.
This weekend is the last weekend of the season at Country Creek Produce Farm. The farm’s attractions include the corn maze, jump pad, peddle track, quad mountain slides, u-pick pumpkins, hayrides, animals, pumpkin cannon, and more. Friday: 9AM-6PM (Hayrides 3-6PM admission $6.75 per person during these 3 hours). Saturday: 10 AM-6PM. Sunday: 12-5PM (Sunday Discount Day – $5 per person).
GREENCASTLE
Downtown Greencastle merchants will host a Holiday Open House on November 4. Stop by one of the shops along Baltimore Street: Inner Beauty, Joyful Arts Studio, and the Jewelry Shop. Also shop ELM Shoes, ELM Department Store, and Alternative Choices.
The Angel Tree Craft & Vendor Show will be on Saturday, November 4 from 9AM to 3PM. Blue Heron Event Center, 407 S. Washington St., Greencastle.
WAYNESBORO
The Waynesboro Lions Club will hold their annual model train show fundraiser at the Mont Alto Fire Hall, located along Rt. 997 in Mont Alto, on Sunday, November 5, from 9AM to 2PM. There will be approximately 100 vendors and several operating train layouts. The Mont Alto Fire Department will offer free fire truck rides to all children with a paid admission beginning at 10AM. Admission is $3 per person or $5 for a family with parents and children.
MERCERSBURG
Stoner’s Dairy Farm and Corn Maze offers weekend Fall activities. Normal weekend offerings include sea themed corn maze, hayride, petting zoo, pedal carts, corn cannon, scarecrow factory, food and more. This Friday November 3 from 7-10 PM is the last Haunted Night of the season. Cost is $7 per person. Haunted Night – may not be suitable for children under 10 or for the weak of heart. Saturday night is a regular flashlight night. Saturday hours are 12-10PM. Sunday hours are 12-5PM.
HERSHEY
Teachers will be admitted FREE to Hershey Gardens on Saturday & Sunday, November 4 & 5, 2017! Present your teacher/employee identification card/badge or pay stub and receive FREE admission to Hershey Gardens and the Butterfly Atrium from 9AM – 5PM. On both days, stop by the Education Center in The Children’s Garden between 10AM and 2PM to enjoy snacks and refreshments and learn about Hershey Gardens’ field trips and school programs.
BALTIMORE, MD
On November 5, 2017, visitors can enjoy Pay What You Want Day at the National Aquarium. Tickets will only be available on-site at the ticket window on the day of this special event. Tickets will be available starting at 10AM and last entry is at 5PM; guests may tour for up to 90 minutes after the last entry.
