North Square Farmers Market Opens Saturday, May 26
This Saturday, May 26, will be the Opening Day of North Square Farmers Market’s 2018 season. Over 25 stands of vendors and community organizations will be present. Live music will be provided by local band, Don’t Look Down starting at 9AM and a free kids’ activity will be offered by Spiritrust Lutheran at The Village at Luther Ridge.
Opening Day vendors include Cheesetown Produce, Foot of the Mountain Farm, Piney Mountain Orchard, Broadleaf Acres, Harvest Hills, Pecan Meadow Farm, Denim Coffee, Undone Kombucha, Gourmet Popcorn of Carlisle, Jo’s Bakery, NETwork Ministries, Moses Family Jerky, Falafel Shack, Ubuntu Vegan Foods, Helianthus Herbals, Pine Hill Primitives, Various Imaginations, Kisseman Children’s Foundation – Baskets for Education, Kwee-Jack Fish Co. and more.
Community partner organizations for Saturday include Franklin County Library System with information on their summer programs, and Fulton Center for Sustainable Studies/Wilson College School of Nursing to talk about Lyme’s Disease prevention. Chambersburg Borough Police Department will also have a stand.
Healthy Communities Partnership will be registering kids, ages 3 to 12, for POP Club. POP stands for ‘Power of Produce’ and is a free club for kids to join. POP members receive $2 each market visit to use on fresh, local fruits and vegetables.
The Opening Day schedule is as follows:
8AM – Market Opens
9AM – 11AM – Live music by Don’t Look Down
9:30AM – Opening Day Ribbon Cutting
Noon – Market Closes
North Square Farmers Market is open every Saturday morning, 8AM to Noon, from May 26 to October 20, 2018. The market is located at 50 North Main Street, near King Street Church. Vendors are accepted on a rolling basis as space allows. For more information please visit northsquarefarmersmarket.com.
