Plainfield: The West Pennsboro Volunteer Fire Co. Fair & Festival is on three nights, June 14 – 16. Plenty of Homemade Food, Fun, and Music. Live Bands each Night. FREE parking and admission. The fair starts at 4PM nightly and is located at the fire company’s station, 20 Park Road in Plainfield.
Mont Alto: The annual Mont Alto Volunteer Firemen’s Carnival will be held June 15 – June 23, 2018. For nine nights, enjoy Rides by Snyders Amusements, Entertainment, Bingo, Games and Food at the Mont Alto Fire Company’s Events Complex, off of Route 997. Kitchen opens at 5:30PM every night. Live entertainment is booked for every night of the carnival. Wristband special ($20) each night. FREE Parking too.
Newville: The Cumberland Valley Tractor Pullers Association will hold a tractor pull on June 16, 6:30PM. Admission is $8 for adults with children under 12 free. Concession Stand available.
Newville: The annual Newville Fountain Festival will return to the fountain in downtown Newville on June 15 & June 16. This two-day event features a parade, craft vendors, food, live music, antique car show, historic tours of Newville, a petting zoo, baking contest and children’s alley. The Schedule of Events:
Chambersburg & Carlisle: Royer’s annual food drive returns June 16-30, 2018. The Royer’s Kids Club will kick it off with an event on Saturday, June 16 in all Royer’s stores. They will have an opportunity to decorate their own pot and plant marigold seeds in it and to enter the kids club birthday card design contest (the winner receives a flower delivery on his or her birthday). Children ages 5 to 12 are asked to bring a nonperishable food item as the price of admission. Time slots are available at 10AM and 2PM at each of Royer’s Flowers stores in Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York counties. Registration is required by calling or stopping by the nearest Royer’s store.
Chambersburg: The Cars & Coffee Southern Pennsylvania event is June 16, 8AM – 11AM at Panera Bread Chambersburg. This is a family event for car enthusiasts. Bring your exotic, classic, muscle, or antique.
Chambersburg: King Street Church is hosting Bless Fest in their parking lot on June 16 from 4PM – 7PM. A free community celebration that will include food, carnival-style games, an inflatable bounce house and obstacle course, live music, dunk tank, petting zoo, and more.
Chambersburg: A Food Truck Fest hosted by GearHouse Brewing Company (next door to Jim’s Farmers Market, behind Jan Zell Wines) is June 16. Local food vendors will be setup outside from Noon-4PM with acoustic music starting at 1PM inside. Butcher Shoppe, Fat Russ’s BBQ, Falafal Shack, Veroni Café, Van Go, and Tania’s Mexican Food Truck.
Chambersburg: Enjoy local talent at the 1st round of the annual A Capella & Unplugged competition. On June 16, 7PM acts will perform on the Capitol Theatre stage vying to be selected as one the top acts by the judges. Go here for tickets.
Marion: The 2018 Marion Festivals will be held on the following 4 Saturdays: June 2, June 9, June 16, & June 23. Free Entertainment with 3 Shows each night (6:15 PM; 7:30PM; 9PM). Food, Games, Rides. Kitchen opens at 4:30PM. Free parking.
Biglerville: Come out and have a fun filled day of Music and Food at the Round Barn & Thirsty Farmer Brew Works. On Sunday, June 17 from Noon – 4PM is their annual Father’s Day Event. Thirsty Farmer Brew Works, games, and live music from local favorite “Klinger McFry.”
Rouzerville: The fourth Mason-Dixon Applachian Trail Outdoor Festival is Saturday, June 16. Hikers and outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds will learn more about the Trail in the Mason-Dixon area, and to enjoy a variety of activities. Free admission, the public is welcome 10AM – 4PM, rain or shine, at Red Run Park in Rouzerville, just west of where the Appalachian Trail crosses PA Rt. 16.
Waynesboro: Mainstreet Waynesboro, Buchanan Automotive and WaynesboroFest 2018 present the Father’s Day Weekend Car & Truck Show on June 16, 9AM – 3PM. Free admission. Registration is $12 a vehicle. Lots of trophies. Dash plaques to the first 100 entries. “The King” Taylor Brown sings 50s Elvis at Main Street Park at 12:30PM. Food vendors too.
Ft. Loudon: Life on the 1700s era frontier will be highlighted at Colonial Day, Saturday, June 16 from 9AM to 3PM at the State Historic Site of Fort Loudoun. Smell the campfires and hearth cooking, see log hewing and blacksmithing, and hear the tales of the 18th Century frontier. Fort Loudoun is located 13 miles west of Chambersburg off Route 30 on North Brooklyn Road. This event is FREE and family friendly.
York: York’s Made In America Tours event held in June, celebrates the local businesses in the area. Made In America Factory Tours offer exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the making of some of America’s favorite products. There is no overall fee to take the tour, although some stops do charge a small admission fee to their facility. The tours and attractions are everything from pretzels and potato chips to violins and wine! Visit Bluett Bros. Violins, Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Martin’s Potato Chips, Snyder’s of Hanover Factory Store, Sunrise Soap Company, and MORE on June 13 – 16, 2018.
York: Touch-A-Tractor Day at Flinchbaugh’s Orchard is June 16 at 10AM – 3PM. Kids have the opportunity to explore over 30 tractors, trucks and pieces of farm equipment. Admission is FREE! Food concessions are available.
Hanover: The Codorus Blast Festival at Codorus State Park in Hanover is this weekend, June 15 – 17. The Codorus Blast is an outdoor, 3 day fundraising event featuring live bands, nature displays, pontoon rides, vendors, Keystone Dock Dogs, helicopter rides, 5K race, kayak rides, family movie night. Fireworks over the lake on Saturday at 9:30PM. Entrance to this event is at the band shell area off Sinsheim Rd, Hanover. $5 per car.
Hagerstown: Hagerstown Regional Airport and the Hagerstown Aviation Museum will be offering a behind-the-scenes look at Hagerstown-built aircraft during a special Father’s Day event on June 17. From 8AM – 4PM, bring your family out to Rider Jet Center (18421 Henson Blvd.) for Open Airplane Day.
Ongoing Summer Events
The Kids Bowl FREE Summer Bowling Program is available in South Central PA. Each participating location has Program Days to receive FREE Games of Bowling All Summer long! Each bowling alley has its own start and finish dates and age restrictions. Read more HERE.
North Square Farmers Market is open every Saturday morning, 8AM to Noon, from May 26 to October 20, 2018. The market is located at 50 North Main Street, near King Street Church. Rain or shine.
The Chambersburg Aquatic Center is open daily till Labor Day. Single-day admission rates to the new facility will be $5 for borough residents and $9 for non-residents. Children under 3 yrs of age are free. Normal pool hours for daily admittance is 1PM – 8PM (season members can enter at noon – one hour earlier than the public).
The miniature train at Norlo Park will be up and running on Saturdays throughout Summer. The miniature train, complete with a cattle car and caboose, is free to ride on Saturdays from 1PM to 4PM. It is open to riders of all ages. Donations are accepted.

Times are 10AM – 11:30AM at the Chambersburg store, 1733 Lincoln Way East or 1PM – 2:30PM at the Shippensburg store, 40 Shippensburg Shopping Center.
