SHIPPENSBURG
The 38th Annual Shippensburg Corn Festival is Saturday, August 25, 8AM – 4PM! More than 250 craft vendors on King Street, Food Court on N. Earl Street, an antique car show, free family entertainment, and a lively corn eating contest.
There will be a Book Nook Sale during the Corn Festival. Shop the sale Saturday, 8AM – 4PM. The Book Nook is adjacent to the Shippensburg Public Library.
Saturday, August 25 will be the last day of the 2018 pool season in Shippensburg! The pool will be open Noon – 5PM with special admission, $3 per person.
6th Annual Wiffle Mania will be held on Saturday, Aug. 25 at the STCC Multi-Purpose Center on Cleversburg Road. DJ and food vendors. Games start at 9AM.
Avengers: Infinity War will be shown outside at Veterans Stadium, Park Place on Saturday, August 25 at dusk. Admission is FREE. Dress up as your favorite super hero! Starting at 7PM, create your own mask, games, obstacle course, and photo booth.
On August 26 bring your four-legged friend for a dip in the Shippensburg Memorial Park Pool from 1 – 4PM! $5 per dog with two people. Your dog(s) must be leashed, licensed and properly vaccinated. A registration form is available HERE.
CHAMBERSBURG
FREE Concerts at Chambersburg Memorial Park Kiwanis Band Shell continue all Summer long. View the dates HERE.
The Chambersburg Aquatic Center has new hours with school opening. The Center will be open on Friday evenings 5-8PM & Saturday/Sunday normal hours, Noon-1PM members, 1-8PM for general public. This will continue through Labor Day, Sept 3.
Kid to Kid Costume Unveiling is Saturday, August 25, 10AM – 8PM. Get the first pick of your favorite princesses, superheroes, monsters, and more. From Noon – 2PM on Saturday, Queen Elsa and Princess Anna will be happy to take pictures with your kiddos and help them find a costume for Halloween.
North Square Farmers Market, 50 N. Main Street, will be held Saturday, August 25 from 8AM to Noon.
Royer’s Flowers & Gifts will celebrate the start of a new school year with a free Royer’s Kids Club event on August 25. Children ages 5 to 12 will have an opportunity to create an arrangement featuring yellow and lavender daisy pompons, leatherleaf fern and a back-to-school stick-in. Each participant also will receive a balloon. Time slots are available at 10AM and 2PM at each of Royer’s Flowers stores in Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York counties. Registration is required by calling or stopping by the nearest Royer’s store.
Franklin County Storytelling Festival is in its 4th year. Word-renowned storytellers visit to share their stories over 2 days of events. Friday night 7PM at the Inn at Ragged Edge, Bil Lepp will be sharing stories along with wine (cash bar), hors d’oeuvres and music. Adam Booth will be hosting a workshop on Saturday morning from 10:30AM to 12:30PM at the Coyle Free Library. The Saturday afternoon set will be from 3-5PM. Followed by an evening set at 6:30PM for a couple more great hours of storytelling. Tickets HERE.
Downtown Chambersburg Inc. will host the 23rd Annual CrabFeast, rain or shine, on Saturday, August 25 at the AMVETS Post 224 picnic pavilion from 3 to 8PM. Proceeds from the event are used for downtown revitalization. This event is for those who already have their tickets (sales have ended).
ROXBURY
The Lurgan Township Lions Club Bull Ride will be held on Saturday, August 25 at 7PM. It is sanctioned by International Bull Riders with 60 bulls. Tickets at the gate are $20 adult and $15 for ages 6 – 12. Children 5 and under are free. Lurgan Township Lions Club is located at 13978 Cumberland Hwy in Roxbury.
CARLISLE
August 23-26 is Corvettes at Carlisle. The event features more than 5,000 Corvettes representing all generations of America’s classic sports car. Events include autocross, burnouts, parade through historic downtown Carlisle (Saturday at 7PM), a huge swap meet, an all-Corvette car corral, Manufacturers Midway, and Installation Alley.
WAYNESBORO
The Annual Jazz Festival takes place August 26, 2PM – 4PM at Renfew Institute. Renfrew Institute’s annual jazz festival spotlights top professional artists each year. Free and open to the public. On the lawn behind the museum house. Rain site is Waynesboro Area Middle School auditorium.
MANHEIM
The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire is held on the grounds of the Mount Hope Estate. With over 90 stage shows daily, 20 Royal Kitchens and scores of artisan merchants with handcrafted wares, the Renaissance Faire invites guests to immerse themselves in the 35-acre village and experience the fantasy. Each weekend will showcase a unique theme: August 25 & 26 Myths & Legends
MARYLAND
The 42nd Annual C&O Canal Days event at Byron Memorial Park, Williamsport, MD will be held on Saturday August 25 & 26. Crafts, Food, and Music. There will be a free town shuttle available to transport attendees between event areas, town museum and the C&O Canal, basin aqueduct and lockhouse.
