SHIPPENSBURG
Katie’s Place Thrift Shop is having its next monthly sale October 11 – 12 – 13 from 8AM – Noon. The store is located at the old Martin’s Bakery Building (go down the hill to the bottom of the building) at the corner of S. Penn and E. Garfield Streets.
Southampton Township Cumberland County Park and Recreation will be hosting a Fall Fling on Saturday, Oct. 13, 11AM – 3PM at the Multi-Purpose Center located at 56 Cleversburg Road. There will be bounce houses, live music, food along with a variety of other vendors.
The Southampton Township Cumberland County Park & Rec will be holding a 5K Harvest Hustle on October 13. Registration will be $25 the day of the race. Race time is 10:30AM.
The Shippensburg Kiwanis is having a Pulled Pork Fundraiser Dinner on Saturday, October 13, 11AM-2PM. Dine in or carry out at STCC Multi-Purpose Center.
Join Studio Z and several local instructors for a Zumbathon on October 13 beginning at 4PM. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.
NEWVILLE/CARLISLE
Maple Lane Farm’s Corn Maze in Newville is open weekends. The 4 acre Corn Maze is in the shape of the historic Laughlin Mill. Search the maze for all 10 clue signs. In addition to exploring the maze, children will enjoy the corn pit. Fun photo ops too! Saturdays from 10AM-7PM, Sundays from 2PM-6PM.
Cross the Creek Farm offers Pick-Your-Own-Pumpkins priced by the size, not by pound ($1.75 – $7.50). Fridays and Saturdays 10AM – 6PM. Saturday is Fall Festival Day with some fun extras – a couple of classic cars and tractors, pulled pork sandwiches ($), and free family fun games.
North Middleton Township will be hosting their 15th Annual Halloween Egg Hunt and Hayride at Village Park, 1830 Suncrest Drive, Carlisle. Event is free and will be held rain or shine. Egg Hunt is for children 10 years of age and younger. Children are encouraged to come in costume and bring their bucket to collect candy filled eggs. Hayrides will begin at 2PM and end at 4PM, weather permitting. The Costume Parade is at 2:45PM and the Egg Hunt starts at 3PM sharp. Free popcorn and ice cream for everyone. Crafts and prizes for children.
Cumberland County’s Best Kept Secrets Tour is going on now through October 27. A shopping/food and fun adventure featuring 40 unique small businesses. Tickets are $10. Call 717-516-8659.

Sweet Walk to Remember, an awareness and fundraising event will be held from 3PM-8PM on Sunday October 14 at Norlo Park. The event is open to the community. A program including speakers, reading of names, candle lighting, and a one-mile walk will begin at 6:00pm. Sweet Grace Ministries seeks to provide support to those who have endured miscarriage, stillbirth or neo-natal death.
Country Creek Produce Farm in Chambersburg is open for Fall fun. The farm’s attractions include “The Great Space Adventure” corn maze, jump pad, peddle track, quad mountain slides, u-pick pumpkins, hayrides, animals, pumpkin cannon, and more!

Tayamentasachta Annual Apple Festival is Saturday, October 13, 9AM – 3PM. The festival is at Tayamentasachta Environmental Center, 500 Leitersburg St, Greencastle. Artisans, antique tractors, horse and wagon rides, pumpkin painting, scarecrow making. Michael’s BBQ, apples & apple products, including warm apple dumplings.
MERCERSBURG
Stoner’s Dairy Farm & Corn Maze in Mercersburg offers plenty of weekend Fall activities for any age. This year, the 5 acre corn maze is rain-forest themed. Hayride, Petting zoo, Play Area too. Friday evening, October 12, 7-10PM is a Flashlight Night.
ARENDTSVILLE
It is the second weekend (October 13 & 14) of The National Apple Harvest Festival at the South Mountain Fairgrounds. The festival has something for everyone with hundreds of arts and crafts dealers, demonstrations, contests, food stands and entertainment. Special attractions include the Apple Auditorium and antique cars, steam engine displays, orchard tours, petting zoo, craftsman demonstrations, and appearances by the Pennsylvania Apple Queen, all included in your one-price admission. Saturday, October 13 (6-9PM) is the Pumpkin Walk in Seven Valleys, PA. The Pumpkin Walk is a gentle, ½ mile walk at your own pace along a section of Heritage Rail Trail that has been decorated with lighted pumpkins and other fall decorations. $5 donation. Rain or Shine.

Join Roundtop for the first-ever Roundtop Oktoberfest at Roundtop Tubing/Mountain Adventures on Saturday, October 13, 10AM – 7PM. The 55th Annual Catoctin Colorfest at Community Park, Frederick Road is Saturday, October 13 & 14, 9AM-5PM. Nationally recognized juried craft show, demonstrations, and more. Admission is free to Colorfest, but a nominal fee is charged at the parking locations throughout the town.
