Here’s a list of opportunities to get out and about President’s Day weekend in Shippensburg and Beyond!
Shippensburg
Popovich Comedy Pet Theater stops Sunday, February 17 for two shows (1PM & 4PM) at H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center, Shippensburg University. The show is a family-oriented blend of the unique comedy and juggling skills of Gregory Popovich, and the extraordinary talents of his performing pets. Tickets cost $45, $35 & $25.
Book Nook at the Shippensburg Public Library is offering all Children’s Books BOGO (equal or lesser value free) in February.
The annual Buy Sell & Swap Day will be held at the Shippensburg Fish & Game Club on Saturday, February 16. This event will be held on club grounds at 4498 McClays Mill Road. Anything related to the outdoors will be sold! Doors open at 8AM.
Roxbury
There is public skating at the Blue Mountain Skating Rink on Friday evenings from 7-9PM. $4 admission and $1 skates. Children under 6 are free and non-skating adults are free as well. The Blue Mountain Skating Rink is located 1 mile west of Roxbury, PA on Rt 641.
Chambersburg
Children 3 years of age through 5th grade are invited to join the Chambersburg Recreation Department at the Rec Center on Saturday February 16, from 10AM to 2PM to jump & bounce. Unlimited jumps $5/person or 1 turn(ticket) is $.50. Snow cones, hot dogs, drinks, and other snacks will be available at concessions.
The Greene Township Park has an outdoor ice skating rink. Access to the rink is free and open to the public from dawn to dusk, weather permitting. The ice rink is located in the infield of the baseball practice field. Due to warm temperatures the Ice Skating Rink is currently closed.
Grab your friends & family and head to Laser Bowling on Sunday evenings from 4-8PM at Nellie Fox Bowl.

Camp Hill/Harrisburg
Celebrate on Friday, February 15, 10AM – 9PM at Monkey Joe’s Camp Hill Valentine’s Party with $8 admission, crafts and giveaways!
Get ready for the annual Motorama Events! On February 16 and 17 see the nation’s largest all indoor motorsports event at the PA Farm Show Complex, 2300 N. Cameron St, Harrisburg. Motorama is about racing – watch Arena Cross, Go Kart, Quarter Midget and Remote Control Racing or take a walk through the Rod, Custom and Classic Car Show. For ticket info go HERE. Saturday 2/16 9AM-10PM; Sunday 2/17 9AM-5PM.
The National Civil War Museum will offer free admission on Saturday, February 16, 2019. The Museum is proud to provide activities and entertainment for the community, completely free of charge, many of which will highlight topics on Black History Month. From 10AM – 4PM, enjoy family activities such as the clothing station to try on period clothing and take selfies, coloring activity station, Officers for the Union living history, and Ladies for the Union living history. There will be musical entertainment from the Long Hill String Band at 10:30AM, Noon, and 2PM.
Gettysburg
The 2019 Adams County Home Show is Friday, February 15, 3PM – 8PM & Saturday, February 16, 9AM – 6PM at the All Star Events Complex. Free Admission and Parking, Raffle Drawing, Student Design Competition, Nail Pounding Contest – Saturday 2:30PM, Food, and Rocky 98.5 Broadcasting Live – Friday 5PM-7PM.
Celebrate love and chocolate at Adams County Winery’s annual For the Love of Chocolate event. On February 16, try a petite pairing of three gourmet chocolates with three delicious wines. Wine and chocolate flights are $14/person.
Hershey
Zoo America has Fantastic Fridays where all visitors get in for $6.25 every Friday in February. Offer not available online.
Join the Hershey’s Characters and Hersheypark Band on Saturdays and Sundays and President’s Day in February as they perform and parade through Hershey’s Chocolate World Attraction. Admission is free and great for all ages! February 16-18 at 11AM & 2PM. Check out the Hershey’s Chocolate Sculpture too!
