A Peek Inside Surplus City (Chambersburg)

UPDATE:  Surplus City Chambersburg will open Thursday, April 25 at 8AM.

Surplus City will be opening soon in Chambersburg at 875 Lincoln Way West, the former Shop ‘n Save (Food Lion) location.

The family run business specializes in retail and wholesale items from mufflers, nuts, bolts, chain, and rope to crafts, baskets, fabric, and foam rubber.  On Friday, Ship Saves got a sneak peek of the 20,000 items they sell.  In yellow, bold lettering around the store a wide variety of products are highlighted.

Bins of bolts, nuts, washers, screws, etc. are well organized and clearly marked.  They are sold in bulk (priced by the pound).

Items such as tools, bolts, auto body supplies, plumbing supplies, automotive supplies, and general merchandise round out the auto and hardware side of the store.

The other side features crafts and fabrics.  Items for sale include silk flowers, gifts, home décor, rugs, season merchandise, garden flags, and general merchandise.

Surplus City offers a large selection of different fabrics – upholstery, dress fabrics, outdoor material, fleece, cottons, and more.

Surplus City currently operates three retail stores in Central Pennsylvania (Altoona, Williamsport, and Carlisle) and a fourth in LaVale, MD.  Stay tuned for the Chambersburg store’s opening date.  Hours will be Monday through Thursday 8AM – 6PM, Friday 8AM – 8PM, Saturday, 8AM – 5PM, Sunday 10AM – 5PM.
