Dickinson College’s Science Spectacular | April 13
Dickinson College will host a science open house, Science Spectacular on Saturday, April 13 from 6PM – 10PM in Tome Hall, Rector Science Complex, located on Louther Street between Cherry and College streets in Carlisle.
The annual science night teams up the Astronomy, Physics, and Earth Sciences clubs for stargazing, science demonstrations, and more!
Professor Lars English will present “Is Physical Reality Emergent?” at 6:30PM. There will be two planetarium shows, the first at 8PM and the second at 9PM.
- Astronomy: Kirchoff’s Laws of Spectroscopy demo, Solar telescopes, Britton Telescope will be open for observing
- Physics: Sand Pendulum, Ruben’s Tube, Cloud Chamber, Hovercraft, Electric bicycle (e-bike) presentation
- Earth Sciences: Fluorescent Minerals, Petrographic Microscopes, Water Chemistry Analysis (bring your own samples), Exploding Trash Can
This event is free and open to the public.
