Shippensburg
Arooga’s Grille House & Sports Bar is offering all its grilled cheese sandwiches for half-off on April 12 for National Grilled Cheese Day. The offer includes all Arooga’s grilled cheese creations.
Shippensburg University’s Red Raider Football “Red-White” Game, is scheduled for Saturday, April 13 at Noon from SU Student Association Field at Seth Grove Stadium. Admission is free for all fans, tailgating is permitted (starts at 10 AM), Red Raider Marching Band will perform, concession stand will be open.
Join Shippensburg University’s Act V Theatre Company for their Spring Musical, Mamma Mia on April 11, 12, & 13. $5 w/S.U. ID or 18 and under; $8 General admission.
The United States Army Field Band & Soldiers’ Chorus will perform at the Luhrs Center on Saturday, April 13, 7:30PM. Free general admission tickets will be available beginning Monday, March 4. Tickets must be reserved in advance by visiting or calling the Luhrs Center box office at (717) 477-7469. There is a limit of 4 tickets per order and online orders are not available. Organized groups of 20+ should ask for a group sales representative when calling the box office.
Newville
The annual Kid’s Fishing Derby at Green Spring Brethren in Christ Church will be held Saturday, April 13 from 8AM – Noon. The event is open to children ages 3-15. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Registration begins at 7AM on Derby Day. Fishing starts promptly at 8AM.
Carlisle
Award-winning college a cappella performers compete for the championship title on Saturday, April 13 at 7PM at the Carlisle Theatre. Admission: $27/premium, $17 regular.
Dickinson College will host a science open house, Science Spectacular on Saturday, April 13 from 6PM – 10PM in Tome Hall, Rector Science Complex, located on Louther Street between Cherry and College streets in Carlisle. The annual science night features stargazing, science demonstrations, planetarium shows (8PM & 9PM) and more! This event is free and open to the Dickinson community and the public.
Dillsburg
The second annual Dill’s Celtic Festival is April 13 from 9:30AM to 5PM at the Historic Dills Tavern. Celebrate the Celtic history and heritage of what is now Northern York County at this family-friendly event. Celtic crafters, artisans, vendors of traditional Celtic foods and beverages, musicians, dancers, and more will be a part of the festival. Tickets are $10 per person, and free for children 12 and under.
Chambersburg
Wilson College’s dance ensemble, Orchesis, will present its annual spring performance in Laird Hall at 7PM Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13, with a Saturday matinee at 2PM, The show, which is open to the public, will include something for everyone – from ballet and modern dance to Bollywood, hip hop and contemporary. Tickets will be available at the door, and are $10 for general admission. Students, senior citizens and members of the military will be admitted for free, but donations are welcome.
St. Paul United Methodist Church will host a Spring Arts & Craft Show on Saturday, April 13, from 9AM – 3PM in the St. Paul Family Life Center. There will be crafters, artists, and authors selling a wide variety of specialty items. Food will be available for purchase from Coach’s Corner BBQ.
Enjoy Smith’s Barbecue Chicken and support the Menno Haven Auxiliary on Saturday, April 13, 10AM – 2PM. Location: Lowe’s Parking Lot in Chambersburg. Tickets: $12 for a dinner, $7 for chicken only.
UR Sweet Repeats Spring/Summer Children’s & Maternity Sale is this week, April 11 – 13. Location: Amvets Pavilion, 750 5th Avenue, Chambersburg.
Nitterhouse Masonry & Hardware Store at 859 Cleveland Ave, Chambersburg is having a Spring Mega Sale on April 13, 8AM – 4PM.
Civil War Re-enactment and Living History event will take place on April 13 & 14 at C.V. Antique Engine Grounds, 1501 Crider’s Church Rd (Twin Bridges). Open to public, free entry & parking. Camps open 9AM until 9PM each day. Come see how the soldiers lived during the Civil War. Saturday ladies tea at 2PM, steak dinner at 4:30PM, evening dance at 8PM. There will also be a tug of war between the North and South at the convenience of the officers after the afternoon battle. Sunday morning church service at 9AM under the pavilion.

Mercersburg
The Mercersburg Area Community Chorus presents the monumental Verdi Requiem on Saturday, April 13, at 7PM and Sunday, April 14, at 3PM in the Irvine Memorial Chapel at Mercersburg Academy. Verdi’s masterpiece will be brought to life by four professional soloists, a 45-piece professional orchestra, and the 120-voice chorus. Admission is free. Seating is limited, so early arrival is recommended.
Waynesboro
Renfrew Museum and Park kicks off their season on Saturday, April 13 with an Open House & Art Show. The exquisitely decorated Royer-Nicodemus Museum House will be open for free walk through tours from 1PM to 4PM.
Rouzerville Fish and Game Association’s Fishing Rodeo at Red Run Park is April 13, 8AM. This free event is open to all youth ages 3-15. Prizes will given.
All ages are welcome to enjoy a Spring Fun Fly on April 13, 10AM – 4PM with expert kite flying help from Kite Masters—Sam Adams and George Adams—in the meadow behind the museum house at Renfrew Park. The event is open to all ages and there is no fee for flying. Participants should bring their own kites. A Build a Kite workshop is scheduled from 11AM – 12:30PM. There is a $1 donation to cover materials.
Shop the Prom Blessing Closet on Sunday, April 14 from 1:30PM – 4PM at the Waynesboro YMCA, 810 East Main Street, Waynesboro. Dresses are by donation.
Bigerville
Learn about butterflies at Taylor’s Greenhouse in Biglerville on Saturday April 13. Folk’s Butterfly Farm will feature their walk-in Flight House full of butterflies for kids of all ages to enjoy from 10AM – 4PM. The cost is $3 per person. You will be able to feed the butterflies and take pictures while in the enclosure. There will be informal presentations on butterflies and showcasing plants to help make a butterfly garden of your own!
Enola
Mechanicsburg Sportsman’s Association (493 Sample Bridge Road, Enola) is hosting a Children’s Fish Derby on Saturday, April 13, 2019 for children ages 4 – 14. Registration starts at 8AM with fishing derby from 9AM – 1PM. There will be a portable pond available for kids 6 years of age and under. There will be awards and prizes, a free kids raffle, and refreshments will be available. This is a free event and open to the public.
Hershey
Springtime In The Park is open weekends through April 21. Enjoy a sweet day filled with thrills on 50 rides, including 13 coasters. Plus, catch up with your favorite Hershey’s Characters, visit ZooAmerica, and more.
