What’s Happening | Easter Weekend

Here’s a list of opportunities to get out and about Easter weekend in South Central PA!

Shippensburg

The Gettysburg Big Band, Two-Headed Coyote Productions, Ace Music, and Valentine Guitar Services will present the Spring Swing Spectacular on April 20 at 7PM at The Thought Lot.  Doors open at 5PM, and dance lesson starts at 5:30PM. Show, featuring a LIVE 18 piece big band, starts at 7PM.

Long’s Family Catering & Donuts will be in Shippensburg at the West End Office Complex on Saturday, April 20 from 7AM – 11AM.  Saturday’s flavors are Maple Bacon, Glazed, Powdered, Cinnamon Sugar.  Glazed powdered, or cinnamon sugar holes. 1 for 1, $5 for 6, $10 for 12, $2.50 for holes.  You may preorder by 6PM Friday to guarantee your flavors.

All day Easter Sunday, April 21, Moms eat free with the purchase of a meal of equal or greater value at Arooga’s. Dine-in Only. Lesser value item is discounted.  

 

Cumberland Drive-In Theatre opens for the season this weekend!  Showing on Friday and Saturday will be “Shazam!” and “Captain Marvel.”  Both films are rated PG-13.  Gates open at 7PM.  First feature begins at approximately 8:05PM.

The Best Kept Secrets Tour is a shopping, food, and fun tour designed to help you find the tucked away treasures in the counties of Pennsylvania.  The Cumberland County Tour  is April 18 through May 4, 2019.  Tickets are $10 each with $1 donated to a local charity.

Waynesboro

Mason-Dixon Council Scouts BSA invites you to a Free Family Fun Day on April 20, 10AM – 2PM at Hooverville Elementary School.  There will be a Rock Wall Climb, Moon Bounce, Archery, Water Bottle Rockets, Crafts, Campfire, Outdoor Skills, Pinewood Derby, Boat Races, Space derby rocket racing, and more!

 

Biglerville/Gettysburg

Land of Little Horses will open for the Spring season on Friday, April 19.  They are open Friday, Saturday, and Easter Sunday from 10AM – 5PM.  At Land of Little Horses you will find miniature horses, ponies, horses, a camel, alpacas, sheep, goats, deer, peacocks, pigs, and more!  The arena show, The Mane Event, features performing animals.  New for 2019 is the family game show, “Are you smarter than a horse?”

Mechanicsburg

Mechanicsburg Earth Day Festival is a one-day event on April 20, 9AM – 3PM.  Music, Workshops, Vendors, and Kids’ Activities throughout the town.

Hershey

Hersheypark Springtime in the Park features 50 rides including 13 roller coasters, entertainment, games, and food on April 19-21.  Hours are Saturdays from 10AM to 9PM and Sundays (including Easter) from 10AM to 6PM. It will also be open Good Friday (April 19) from 10AM to 9PM.  Go here to see Giant’s discounted ticket prices.

Maryland

Visit a sweet display of Marshmallow Masterpieces at Carroll Arts Center in Westminster, MD.  The 12th annual PEEPshow runs through April 23.  The event features over 150 sculptures, dioramas, graphic arts, oversized characters and mosaics created and inspired by PEEPS!  The gallery is open 10AM – 7PM Sunday – Thursday (including Easter Sunday) and 10AM – 9PM Friday – Saturday. Admission is FREE but visitors may buy voting chips to vote for your favorite display.
