Newburg’s Rural Life Festival | July 13
Held each year in July, the Rural Life Festival provides a window into Pennsylvania’s past. The annual event presented by Newburg United Methodist Church will be held Saturday, July 13, at 203 N. High St., Newburg and is a fun and educational experience for the whole family. Admission and parking are free.
The festival kicks off rain or shine at 9AM and continues through 3PM. Visitors will see various demonstrations, displays, and old-time activities including Horse and Wagon Rides, Antique Farm Machinery, Antique Displays, Butchering Displays, Small Engines, Stationary Crosscut Saw, Working Steam Engine, Grain Thrashing, Horse Drawn Binder, Grain Flailing, Corn Shelling, Hay unloading in barn with hay fork, Potato Raising and Gathering, Bailing Hay and Straw, Sheep Shearing, Spinning & Weaving, Quilting, Soap Making, Chair Caning, Wood Working, Broom Making, Blacksmith, and Log Hewing.
In addition, discover how food was prepared in the past with demonstrations of Scrapple Making, Fresh Apple Cider Making, Bread Baking, and Butter Making. Children will enjoy a barrel train ride, petting zoo, and more!
Come hungry as delicious homemade food will be sold! Enjoy homemade food such Amish Donuts, Lemonade, Chicken Bar-B-Q, Sandwiches, Hand dipped Ice Cream, Soups, Hand cut French Fries, and Amish Pretzels.
