Cumberland Valley Model Railroad Club Opens Its Doors For Six Open Houses
2020 UPDATE: Due to the ongoing pandemic and current restrictions, The Cumberland Valley Model Railroad Club at 440 Nelson Street in Chambersburg has decided to postpone the model train holiday open houses originally scheduled for December 2020 and January 2021. They may do Spring open houses if conditions improve.
The Cumberland Valley Model Railroad Club will be opening its doors for six Holiday Open Houses. The public is invited to see over 55 model trains running of all sizes – from the tiny T-scale up to the G-gauge set. Admission is FREE, but donations are welcome.
The clubhouse on 440 Nelson Street in Chambersburg will be open from Noon – 4 PM on the following dates:
- Sunday, December 15, 2019
- Sunday, December 22, 2019
- Saturday, December 28, 2019
- Saturday, January 4, 2020
- Sunday, January 12, 2020
- Sunday, January 19, 2020
The event will feature 10 different gauges in trains with layouts, including Jurassic Park, Oil refinery, Lumber Mill, Working Carnival, and rural Pennsylvania countryside. Young children will enjoy layouts of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends, a Cartoon train, and a layout built completely of Legos.
The open house location is handicap accessible, and there is plenty of free parking.
