March 1st is Fasnacht Day | Here’s a few places to find them in Cumberland and Franklin County
Fasnacht Day is the Pennsylvania Dutch way to celebrate Fat Tuesday. This year, the date is Tuesday, March 1, 2022. In honor of Fasnacht Day, we’ve compiled a list of some of the places where you can find them!
Maplewood Farm Market, 8564 Olde Scotland Road, Shippensburg
Maplewood is taking call-ahead orders for donuts at 717-532-8973, or you can stop by the business and fill out a paper order form. Please place your orders by noon Monday, February 28. They will open their doors at 6 AM on Tuesday, March 1. On Fasnacht Day, Maplewood is also offering up FREE coffee! Donuts $10.50 dozen or $.95 each; Donut Bits $2.50 lb.; Fasnacht $9.50 dozen or $.85 each. Varieties: Peanut Butter, Raspberry, Bavarian, Creme Filled, Glazed, Donut Bits, and Fasnachts.
Zimmerman’s Groceries, 1522 Orrstown Rd, Shippensburg
Zimmerman’s Groceries is accepting orders for Fasnacht Day by calling 717-477-0886. Please place your order by February 25. $8.50 dozen, $5.99 1/2 dozen. Varieties: Peanut Butter, Raspberry, Bavarian, Creme Filled, and Glazed.
Dutch Girl Goodies, 10 Brown Road, Shippensburg
Dutch Girl Goodies make their Fasnachts from scratch and with real lard. Donuts are available too. $8/dozen or $4.50 half dozen. Call 717-477-0727 to place your order by February 26 for Fasnacht Day. They will be open Monday evening, February 28, from 4 PM – 8 PM, and Tuesday, March 1, from 7 AM – 7 PM.
Country Store Cafe (formerly Rachel’s Country Store), 6352 McClays Mill Road, Newburg
Country Store Cafe will have fresh donuts and fasnachts on Tuesday, March 1. Please call 717-530-9452 to order. Varieties: Creme Filled, Glazed, Bavarian Filled, Eclair, Peanut Butter Filled, Cinnamon Sugar, Raspberry Filled, and Fasnachts (Plain, Sugar, and Powdered).

Windy Knoll is accepting orders for Fasnacht Day. Mix or Match $.99/each or $10.95/dozen. Glazed Rings, Creme Filled, Peanut Butter Filled, Bavarian Filled, Black Raspberry Creme Filled, or Cookies & Cream Filled. They open on Tuesday at 6 AM.
Long’s Donuts at Glennwood Foods, 11440 Grindstone Hill Rd, Greencastle
Long’s Donuts will be set up at Glenwood Foods in Greencastle on Monday, February 28, from 4 PM – 7 PM and Tuesday, March 1, from 5 AM to 11 AM. Pre-orders are highly recommended by texting 717-552-7495 (include pickup time). Beeman’s Baked Goods are taking orders for Fasnacht varieties – glazed, powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, and plain. Orders are welcome by calling 717-218-5258. $14/dozen. They are open on Tuesday, March 1, 7 AM – 4 PM. Note: Beeman’s Baked Goods offer fasnachts every Friday and Saturday year-round!
