Reading Rainbow event to be held on March 19
Update: Due to the pending forecast, the Reading Rainbow event hosted by the Shippensburg Kids Events Committee has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 19 at the Fire Fighters Activity Center (33 West Orange Street, Shippensburg).
The Reading Rainbow event sponsored by the Shippensburg Kids Events Committee will be held March 19 Saturday, March 12, 2022. The annual event promoting literacy and reading takes place at the Shippensburg Firefighters Activity Center, 33 West Orange Street, from 8:15 AM – 12:30 PM. Admission is FREE!
There will be fun activities suitable for children in PreK through 5th grade. Activities include free face painting by Head Start, special guest readers, caricatures, Jazz Band, Scholastic Book Fair, Laser Light Show by Prismatic Magic! In addition, the first 200 children will receive a free book. There will be door prizes too!
Event Schedule:
8:15 AM: Shippensburg Middle School 6th Grade Jazz Band (Director: Mark Wilson)
9:30 AM: Guest Readers
10:15 AM: 40 minutes Laser Light Show “Spring Jam” by Prismatic Magic
11:30 AM: Guest Readers
Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
All book fair proceeds benefit the Shippensburg Area School District Elementary and Intermediate School Libraries.
