Reading Rainbow event to be held on March 19
The Reading Rainbow event sponsored by the Shippensburg Kids Events Committee will be held on March 19, 2022. The annual event promoting literacy and reading takes place at the Shippensburg Firefighters Activity Center, 33 West Orange Street, from 8:15 AM – 12:30 PM. Admission is FREE!
There will be fun activities suitable for children in PreK through 5th grade. Activities include free water-based tattoos by Head Start, special guest readers, caricatures (fee), Jazz Band, Scholastic Book Fair, Laser Light Show by Prismatic Magic! In addition, the first 200 children will receive a free book. There will be door prizes too!
Event Schedule:
8:15 AM: Shippensburg Middle School 6th Grade Jazz Band (Director: Mark Wilson)
9:30 AM: Guest Readers
10:15 AM: 40 minutes Laser Light Show “Spring Jam” by Prismatic Magic
11:30 AM: Guest Readers
Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
All book fair proceeds benefit the Shippensburg Area School District Elementary and Intermediate School Libraries.
